The following vocabulary mini-unit begins by introducing students to the root “alter-,” and continues with four video lessons on words composed of that root: altruism, altercation, alternate, and alter ego.
By the end of the unit, students should know the meaning of “alter,” and be able to integrate their newly acquired vocabulary into their writing.
Each video lesson comes with a corresponding worksheet. There is also an initial worksheet focused on familiarizing students with their four vocabulary words.
The final test/assessment includes fill-in-the-blank questions and writing prompts.
