Edit & Restore the Quotes Activities
This quick warm-up gets students acting like editors, focusing on spelling, grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Students work individually or in teams to restore five quotes at a time, turning the task into a competition. The first to accurately edit all the quotes wins! This activity supports Language Standard 6–12 ELA: demonstrating command of standard English grammar and usage in writing or speaking.

This quick editing activity helps students practice writing conventions. First, play the video and have students edit the sentences—individually or in groups. Then, they complete the accompanying worksheet. The focus is on strengthening grammar and usage through hands-on editing.
