Here is your task.
For one minute you are going to write and draw pictures on any topic you choose, as long as you use your opposite hand. That’s right, your opposite hand. If you are right handed, you will write with your left hand. If you are left handed, you will write with your right hand.
After writing and drawing for one minute, you will exchange your piece of art with a classmate. At this point, you should pretend that you are a historian. You will analyze the paper given to you as if it is an ancient text. Then you will write the story of that text. Was it written in Persia, Mesopotamia, Ancient Greece or elsewhere? Who wrote this ancient text and why did they write it? Was it a love letter, a religious text, or perhaps a journal entry about the latest hunting trip. What prompted this person to write this magnificent piece of history.
Be specific with your details, and creative with the backstory of this ancient text. And be prepared to share your historical analysis with the class.
