Teaching basic grammar and conventions can be boring.
I make the process more engaging by playing “battle music,” and having students edit and restore the quotes of famous people (often athletes).
It works surprisingly well.
Sometimes I have students edit the quotes individually, and sometimes in groups. It depends on the class.
