Writing an essay can be overwhelming.
Some of my students, in fact, become paralyzed by the process.
They struggle to get started.
This is why I like to get students comfortable with writing introduction paragraphs.
Writing a clear and well-structured introduction allows students to build momentum and confidence when it comes to essay writing.
And this is often the catalyst needed for students to engage with the rest of their essay.
For the following activity, students need to complete 4 introduction paragraphs. The goal is for students understand the general structure and language necessary to write clear and well-structured introduction paragraphs.
