Find Your Focus
Metacognition is an important tool for learning. The better we know ourselves and how we think–the better we can take control of our life. The theme of this activity is FOCUS. To accomplish great things, students must learn to FOCUS. This means limiting distractions and creating audacious goals to aspire to. Video lesson: Worksheet:
Who Said It?
Students have to guess who said each quote. Pass out paper and play the video. Then pause when necessary. That’s it! Who Said It: Tupac or Shakespeare? Who Said It: Mark Twain or Shakira? Teaching Tip: Get Students ExPeRiMeNtInG With Their Writing
Encourage students to take risks with their writing. Tell them to EXPERIMENT with punctuation, an interesting hook, a new vocabulary word, a silly idea – anything.
