Sometimes students need to sit and write.
No phones.
No articles to read.
Nothing.
Just paper, a pencil, and ideas.
The following worksheets require students to respond to a quote.
That’s it.
There are quotes from scientists, anthropologists, philosophers, athletes, and more.
And (for each worksheet) students get to choose the quote they address.
The expectation is that students write 250 words or more (150 words or more for middle school).
And the goal is for students to demonstrate a “mind at work.”
Students need space to play with ideas.
They also need space to sit down, think, and search their mind.
