Students are expected to do the following for this lesson:

– Predict word meanings via context clues.

-Read the dictionary definition of academic vocabulary.

*Many of my students struggle with understanding the definition of words. For students to become self-directed learners, they need to learn how to use the dictionary as a resource.

-Integrate academic vocabulary in their writing.

I pass out a blank sheet of paper, play the video, and pause the lesson while students respond to questions. That’s it!
