It is important to keep vocabulary fun.
To do this, I have VOCABULARY CHALLENGES.
-Put students into groups.
-Play the video.
-Give students a set time to guess.
-Let students use their dictionaries (unless the students are advanced).
-Give the winning group a prize.
It works like magic.
Students will be looking up words, collaborating, and arguing amongst themselves about academic vocabulary.
The goal is to turn learning vocabulary into a challenge or a puzzle to solve–not some boring or intimidating task.

I teach ELA in middle school and would love a modified version of your great work.
